Vacation Time

This year my family and I are going on a little road trip. To see some relatives, to see some new places, to explore some big cities, check out a few museums and parks. And beaches. (We know it’s going to be hot!)

I’m also hoping to track down a couple of literary Bookmarks. Perhaps Dennis Lee’s or Michael Ondaatje’s in Toronto, and maybe Terry Griggs’s in Owen Sound.

I’m planning to be back just in time for the next Literary Wives review on August 6th: First Love by Gwendoline Riley. However, getting back into the swing of things might take a bit longer.

Here are a few good road trip books I’ve read:

We’ll All Be Burnt in Our Beds Some Night by Joel Thomas Hynes

Fallsy Downsies by Stephanie Domet

In Search of the Perfect Singing Flamingo by Claire Tacon

And one for the whole family… Carson Crosses Canada by Linda Bailey

Do you have a favourite book about a road trip?

Happy Summer, Everyone!

If you are in Oakville or Hamilton, check out the Bookmarks there. Take photos of you and family members at the Bookmarks and share with Project Bookmark Canada.

The only one on your list that I’ve read so far is Carson Crosses Canada! My 3-year-old loves it and I’m looking forward to the day when my kids are old enough to enjoy a longer road trip. Have a fun time!

Have a wonderful time with your family! I can’t think of a book but movies keep on popping into my mind instead. Little Miss Sunshine being one of them. 😊
Wishing you safe travels and lots of fun. 😊

I saw your tweets on the literary bookmarks. It’s such a great project. I hope you’re enjoying your vacation (from what I’ve seen in Twitter, it looks like you are!).

I hope you have a great trip Naomi. I guess the Road Trip book that sticks most in my mind is On the Road by Jack Kerouac or perhaps Travels with Charlie by John Steinbeck but I’m glad you suggested some Canadian road trip books for reading. Cheers.
