On the long weekend, we went to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and before taking off again, I felt the urge to share. 🙂

Lexicon Books. A beautiful little independent book store, where we bought a novel for my daughter, a guide to insects for me, and a book about tying knots for my husband.

Lunenburg Bound Books and Paper. A great used book store, where I found (and bought) Paul Murray’s Skippy Dies and The Voyage of the Narwhal by Andrea Barrett.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and see you at the end of August!
Glad you had a good time there – it looks beautiful. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Thanks, Jacqui – you too!
Gorgeous pictures! Ah, nothing like another book nerd on vacation and getting to enjoy book stores vicariously! Have fun and be safe! I will vacation vicariously through you! 🙂 I’ll be interested in your reactions to Skippy Dies.
I love hearing about others’ book store adventures, too. 🙂
And, I’ve been searching for Skippy Dies at used book stores for a couple of years now – finally!
Ahhh…..Lunenburg….who says you can never go home again?? Even when it’s not home, it’s the home of the soul.
Lunenburg is beautiful. 🙂
That looks lovely!
So pretty! Those colorful buildings are gorgeous.
Wow. I had no idea this place even existed! You guys have all the pretty little towns in the Maritimes! I would really like to know what you think of Skippy Dies! That’s been on my list for a while. I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen it anywhere.
Hope you have a great time the rest of August! Will miss you around these parts!
Thanks, Eva! 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful holiday, Naomi. Your photos reminded me — because I went to Lexicon Books a couple of weeks ago with a friend from my book group to hear Darren Greer read — that I haven’t written to tell you what our group thought of Just Beneath My Skin. And that’s because we had to postpone our meeting until the end of August. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
Thanks, Sarah! I saw that he had been there!
Those houses are VERY colorful! Looks like you had a great whirl-wind visit.
How beautiful! I love the brightly colored houses and your gorgeous sunset picture.
How lovely! I too am a fan of bookish travels, so thanks for sharing yours. And that backpack bunny is too sweet. 🙂 Enjoy August!
Bunny comes with us everywhere – it was time for his moment of fame. 🙂
Oh it looks beautiful! And you bought Skippy Dies – yay! Have a great holiday x
You have no idea how happy I was to find Skippy Dies. I’ve had my eye out for it almost 2 years now. 🙂
Lunenburg, I should include it in my bucket list 🙂
Good idea! 🙂
Lovely! Makes me want to visit Canada.
It looks gorgeous! So glad you found the Andrea Barrett novel. I hope you like it. Isn’t neat going to bookstores in different places?!
I was so happy to find that book so soon after having it recommended to me! And, I am reading it right now. 🙂
So pretty!
